In the wake of fast changing economical, technological and geopolitical scenario, demand is getting stronger on educational institutions to change their role from centre of knowledge creation to an effective medium of knowledge application, research extension and skill upgradation. These days’ employers demand trained and skilled manpower with innovative mind and professional wisdom to be productive and industry ready from day one. Recently, on 20-21 April, AISECT University convened All India Higher Education Summit – 2013 in which VC’s of various private universities of India, top officials of UGC, AICTE, Planning Commission and such other regulating bodies, very senior executives of corporate world and directors of research labs etc brain stormed for two days to find ways and means to bring excellences in higher education and research. Changing needs were discussed thread bare, to identify areas where action is required.

At AISECT University we are very serious about not only acknowledging the changing needs but we are amongst first few who are actually bringing the change. We are the first ones to introduce credits in programmes at UG level from first year onwards and include research, innovation and application in the curriculum. We are modifying our curriculum from stereo type final year projects to introduce project and research orientation from first year onwards at UG level itself. We upgrade our syllabus with active participation of industries and corporate world. Unlike most of other institutes, our labs have industry grade equipment and students are encouraged to not only conduct experiments but exploit the potential of these machines and go beyond the syllabus. We organise lot of workshops, training sessions, seminars, expert lectures industry visits, social visits etc to encourage students to think of bridging the gap between what society needs and the latest technology available to be exploited for to meet those needs. Programmes of social concern, events of cultural nature, competitions of sports, debate and social services organised frequently groom our students in to a holistic smart and worthy human beings.
